PINE BLUFF (KATV) - Ivory Jones,22, says he is innocent in his 2-month old son's death and it was all a terrible accident. However, Pine Bluff Police say the evidence doesn't support his story. Thursday, Channel Seven had the only crew on the scene in Pine Bluff, when the dad, Ivory Jones was arrested for first degree murder.

Brandy Jones' life has been turned upside down. By phone Friday, she told Channel Seven's Katherina Yancy that she got home from work at about 6:30 a.m. Thursday. Her husband was sitting on the porch in a daze, couldn't talk or responded to her questions. Finally he said, It's Corey. She rushed inside and found Corey, he was cold. Brandy made the first call to 911.

One day after the death. A Judge asks, "Are you Ivory Jones?" In his orange and white jumpsuit in cuffs, he replies, "Yes sir."

Ivory Jones had his first court appearance, he is accused of murder.

Detective Jerry Lambert took the stand. He says, "During the course of the investigation Mr. Jones gave a false name and we later had to reveal his true identity."

Thursday, Jones was taken into custody and asked what happened while his child, Corey Jones who was in his care.

He stated he put Corey on a love-seat with a bottle in the area the family pet, a boxer usually sleeps. Jones says he laid down about 10 feet away. He told detectives that when he woke up, he noticed the dog had been leaning on the child, causing the death.

His wife Brandy came home and found Corey, cold, lifeless. She was the first one to call 911. Jones said he did CPR for about 5-minutes before she arrived, but quote, "knew Corey was gone".

Detectives have not publicly revealed their evidence, but say that account is not true. "Further investigation revealed that the dog had nothing to do with the death of the child. Mr. Ivory Lee Jones was responsible for the death of the infant, his son."

Detective Jerry Lambert ended he's testimony with these heart wrenching words. "The child died as a result of deliberate, malicious act, suffocation."

The judge has ordered Jones held on a $250,000 cash bond.

Brandy's 4 year old was taken into DHS custody, as protocol. He was also in the home.
