UPDATE: Girl injured in hit and run accident near bus stop

Pulaski County authorities say they have arrested the person who hit a child at a school bus stop this morning.

Julia Locke told authorities she was driving on Tom Box Road when she see saw the school bus stopped but didn't see the stop sign. She says she passed the bus and that's when she hit the child. She went on to say she was aware she hit the kid but continued on to the store to buy cigarettes and took an alternate route home.

JACKSONVILLE (KATV) - The Pulaski County Sheriff's Office report a 12-year-old girl was hit by a vehicle as she was waiting to get on a bus Friday morning. 

 

The accident happened near the intersection at Old Tom Box and Brister Drive around 7:45 a.m.

 

Lt. Carl Minden says the child was taken to a hospital, her condition is not known.

The driver did not stop.
