Woman Hit As Suspect Fires Gun Into West Tulsa Apartments

Posted: Updated:

A woman is hit by a bullet fired from outside her west Tulsa apartment early Thursday morning.

Police said a suspect fired as many as 15 rounds at a car and buildings in the Western Pines complex near 24th and S. Maybelle.

The victim was sitting in her unit with her brother when the bullets came flying in. She was hit in the leg, but he was not hurt. The woman should recover from her injuries, police said.

Police said the shooter ran from the scene. There's no word yet on a motive and there's not much of a suspect description.

A neighbor we spoke to said she'd heard of violence in the area within the last year, but hadn't experienced anything first hand.

"It's getting pretty scary," the woman said. "(My neighbor) has a little baby and I've got a little girl and I'm really worried now."

Police can use any tips you have on this case. You can leave them anonymously through the Crimestoppers tip line at 918-596-COPS.
