Gas Leak Prompts Tulsa Elementary School Evacuation

Police and fire crews have evacuated a Tulsa school Tuesday afternoon after a gas leak was reported.

Tulsa Public Schools were made aware of a gas leak at Lindbergh Elementary. That's in midtown near 11th Street and 89th East Avenue.

TPS told KTUL that the gas leak was confirmed in the boiler room of the school and students were being evacuated. Tulsa Fire Department and Police were headed to the scene to assist.

The leak was confirmed around 1 p.m. Officials moved students from the school to the Eastwood Baptist Church gymnasium at 949 S. 91st East Ave.

Students will be allowed to head home for the day.

    A prayer vigil was held Sunday for the missing Greenwood father and son. 33-year-old Brian Floyd and 10-month-old have been missing since Friday, July 25.
