New State Law Targets Uninsured Drivers

Posted: Updated:

A new law has been signed by the governor.

It's aimed at reducing the number of uninsured drivers in this state.

It authorized police to seize the license tag of anyone cited for not having insurance.

The tag would be replaced by a sticker.

It would provide the minimum insurance for 10 days at the driver's expense.

The tag will be returned when the offender gets a policy and pays their fines and fees.

The law goes into effect on November 1.
