Series of fires at Dyess being investigated

Posted: Updated:

DYESS, Ark. (AP) - Federal and state agents are investigating a series of house fires that have been popping up for more than two months.

Mississippi County officials said Monday that agents with the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms and the state fire marshal's office are working to learn more about the blazes.

The Jonesboro Sun reports (http://is.gd/3Jkgmm ) that the most recent fie was last week, and another home burned on April 22. There were other fires in February and March.

Officials say each house was vacant and only one had electricity.

Witnesses told investigators a red Ford Mustang was seen at 1 of the homes just before it burned.
