SPRINGDALE (AP) - The Northwest Arkansas Naturals are losing a pitcher but gaining an outfielder.
Their parent club, the Kansas City Royals, announced Tuesday that pitcher Justin Marks has been promoted to Class AAA Omaha and outfielder Alex Llanos (YAH-nos) is moving up to Springdale from extended spring training.
Marks was with the Naturals for most of 2012 and won both of his starts this season, despite starting the year on the disabled list.
Last year with Class A Kane County, Llanos batted .280 with one home run and 23 RBI in 68 games. The Royals picked him in the sixth round of the 2008 draft out of Puerto Rico Baseball Academy High School.
