Group drawing attention to LR pedestrian safety

Posted: Updated:

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - A group is working to draw attention to pedestrian safety issues in downtown Little Rock.

Members of the Downtown Little Rock Partnership plan to gather at 11 a.m. Monday at the corner of Capital Avenue and Broadway to shed light on the problem.

The central Arkansas planning agency Metroplan says the Broadway intersections with Capitol Avenue and with Sixth Street are 2 of the most likely to involve pedestrian accidents.

Among those set to speak is Downtown Partnership chief Sharon Priest, along with property owners and business representatives.

Earlier events highlighted problems at a school at 3rd and Louisiana and at intersections in the River Market.
