In response to the statement Melvin Bledsoe made about wanting to know more about the investigation of his son prior to the shooting, the FBI sent us this statement:
"As we recognize and celebrate National Crime Victims' Rights Week, we continue to remember the victims of the shooting at the military recruiting center here in Little Rock, and recognize that this crime had a devastating effect on the victims of that shooting and their families.
There are legitimate law enforcement reasons for neither confirming nor denying the existence of an investigation, and for not releasing information concerning the usage of certain investigative techniques. By adhering to this long-standing policy, we protect both the integrity of our investigations and the privacy and civil liberties of those involved."
