Jenks Toddler In Critical Condition

Posted: Updated:

The call was for a toddler in distress. An 18 month old who wouldn't open his eyes.

"Why is the baby struggling the way the baby is?," asked Jenks police chief Cameron Arthur.

A question that was just the tip of the iceberg when officers discovered that the child's grandfather was dead, unbeknownst to the other people in the house.

"I don't even know that they realized that was the case, they thought maybe that he may have been sleeping," said the chief.

Ray Lykins was 48 years old. His grandson, Kyzen Thompson, was taken to St. Francis and is in the pediatric intensive care unit.

As of now the cause of death of Mr Lykins is unknown. The condition of the child is critical, with sources saying there's concern that the toddler may have accidentally ingested some prescription pills.
