FAYETTEVILLE (AP) - New Arkansas coach Bret Bielema has won over the locker room and state with his outgoing personality.
Now it's up to the former Wisconsin coach to keep up that goodwill by leading the Razorbacks to wins in the rugged Southeastern Conference.
Arkansas suffered an epic collapse last season - falling from preseason No. 5 to a 4-8 record, the school's lowest win total since 2005.
Bielema was hired to turn things around and the Razorbacks appear to have found their new starting quarterback in Brandon Allen. The sophomore emerged as the first-team signal caller after a spring battle with senior Brandon Mitchell, and Bielema is hopeful he can help Arkansas exceed expectations while facing trips to Alabama, Florida and LSU this season.
