Overnight fire destroys Paragould church; no injuries reported

Posted: Updated:

PARAGOULD (AP) - No one was injured after a large fire destroyed a church in Paragould.

Authorities say the fire broke out late Tuesday at Browns Chapel Baptist Church. The fire spread through the entire building and shot flames several feet into the air.

Our ABC station in Jonesboro, KAIT, reports that the church normally has about 400 parishioners.

The South Greene County Fire Department says the cause of the blaze is under investigation.
