Sand Springs -

Two men were taken to the hospital after a crash on Highway 412 in Sand Springs.

It happened Tuesday afternoon near 129th W. Ave.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol Troopers say the drive of a pickup truck had a medical episode and drifted onto the shoulder, hitting a work truck.

The worker in the bucket was thrown onto the grass below.

Troopers say the driver of the pickup truck and the worker were both taken to the hospital in critical condition.

Troopers had to shut down the westbound lanes there for about an hour.

This week is National Work Zone Awareness Week, so drivers are urged to stay alert and slow down.
