Tulsa Firefighters say a neighbor helped pull a family out of their burning house.

It happened Tuesday afternoon in the 5900 block of E 24th St.

Firefighters say a fire started in the back bedroom and spread throughout the house.

An elderly couple and their daughter smelled smoke, heard smoke detectors and tried to get out of the house.

That's when a neighbor helped them escape.

The 86-year-old man and 60-year-old woman went to the hospital to be checked out for smoke inhalation.

An investigator will look into how the fire started and how much damage it caused.
