As spring cleaning begins, you should also keep your workspace in mind.

Amy Bates with Merry Maids of Tulsa stopped by to show us how by cleaning up the desk of evening anchor Kristin Dickerson.

She graciously volunteered to be the guinea pig for this segment, admitting to clutter in her cube.

Bates said it's possible to tackle the clutter in your own office in just 15 minutes. She offered these tips to get started.

"When you open your mail or you're going through different items, touch that piece of paper only once. Then file it or have a place for it," she said.

Having a workspace within arms reach can help increase your productivity, too. Take home any extra cups, pens, trinkets and picture frames.

Another thing to think about are unseen problems like germs. Amy brought us these facts about how may germs can live on the things we touch daily:

• Keyboards contain 70 percent more bacteria than a toilet seat.

• Office phones host around 25,000 germs per square inch.

• Office desks are more than 400 times dirtier than a toilet seat.

• The area on your desk where your hands rest has around 10,000 bacteria.

To keep all those germs at bay, try this:

• Avoid using other people's phones.

• Don't eat at your desk.

• Stay home if you're not feeling well.

• Wash your hands regularly.
