MIAMI (AP) - An 11th-inning home run gave Florida International a 9-6 win and a series sweep against Arkansas State on Sunday.
The Red Wolves had tied the score in the ninth inning on an RBI single by Collin Massanelli, but Florida International pulled off the win with a 3-run home run from Josh Anderson.
With the loss, the Red Wolves fell to 16-13 overall and 4-5 in Sun Belt Conference play. The Panthers improved to 15-12 and 5-4 in league play.
Pitcher John Kock took the loss for the Red Wolves, while Mitchell Davis picked up the win after pitching two scoreless innings of relief.
Arkansas State returns to Jonesboro this week for an 8-game home stand beginning Tuesday when the Red Wolves host Southeast Missouri State.
