Local business hold prom dress giveaway

Posted: Updated:

Prom season is around the corner, but some girls don't have the money to but that special dress.

That's where That Prom Girl comes in.

The local business collects prom dresses throughout the year.

Saturday they held a dress giveaway.

Owners said it's their yearly mission to make sure no girl who wants to go to prom gets left behind without a dress.

"We had a big turnout. We had a line out the door and we're so excited about it, that everybody showed up today," said Cynthia Harris, That Prom Girl owner. "We didn't think very many would come out in the rain, but they did. They showed up."

The owners also collect shoes and jewelry to help the girls complete their outfits.

They've been providing this service for five years now.
