Letter carriers rally to save Saturday mail delivery

Posted: Updated:

LITTLE ROCK - Members of The Little Rock Letter Carriers Association plan a rally Sunday, to show support for continued Saturday mail delivery.

The rally is scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday at the Main Post Office at 600 East Capitol in Little Rock.

Congress says it will end Saturday mail delivery to help the financially troubled USPS, but letter carriers point out that move could hurt small businesses and affect jobs.

Representatives from the association will be on hand to talk more about how the cuts will affect mail service, and to answer questions from customers.  Six day a week delivery has been mandated by congress for the past 30 years.

To show your support for Saturday delivery, you are asked to log on to: http://deliveringforamerica.com/take-action/
