Tulsa Pizzeria Heads to International Expo, Takes Top Honors

Posted: Updated:

A local pizza restaurant has already taken several honors at an international expo in Las Vegas this week.

Andolini's Pizzeria has been at the International Pizza Expo in Las Vegas since it began back on March 19. The event will wrap up Thursday at the Convention Center.

The pizza shop, originally located in Owasso and now on Cherry Street, has already taken first place in the mid-American region competition and fifth worldwide for the American pan pizza category.

"We prepare here daily...we have no rolling pins, no freezers, no microwave...all of our dough is hand-tossed," bar manager Tarian Blakeney said. He added that those are the reasons why the restaurant does so well at competitions like the one in Las Vegas.

According to the expo's website, it's the largest pizza show in the world bringing together all those in the industry. Pizzeria owners, operators and managers are all welcome to attend the conference.
