Health Warning: Sugary Beverages Danger?

Posted: Updated:

New research could have you thinking twice about what you drink.

Researchers estimate that one in every 100 deaths is caused by sugary beverages.

The study also revealed that sugar-sweetened beverages are linked to more than 180,000 obesity-related deaths worldwide each year.

Mexico had the highest death rates from sugary drinks among the world's 35 largest countries.

The United States ranked third.

The American Beverage Association dismissed the research, saying it was "more about sensationalism than science."
