Wild River Country spending $1 million on improvements

Posted: Updated:

NORTH LITTLE ROCK - Wild River Country is now under new management and making some changes.

Aquapark Holdings LLC now owns the water park and is investing a million dollars in renovations.  Vice President of Operations, Chris Shillcut, said they're focusing on clean up and improving the atmosphere in the park.

Those improvements include a new handicap accessible bridge near the wave pool, resurfacing and refurbishing all the slides with bright new colors, new landscaping and adding new events such as the Family Fun Nights.

The company just took over operations in January. With little time to plan, no new rides are in the works for this year but they're already planning for upcoming seasons.

"We are looking in the future in the next three to five years expanding our kids area and also putting in an additional ride," said Shillcut.

One thing that won't be changing? The prices. New management says you will not see an increase.

The cost of a season pass is $49.99, but visitors can save $5 to $9 per pass with an "Early Bird Offer." Single day tickets are not on sale yet, but will be $29.99 for general admission and $20.99 for children ages 12 and under.

Wild River Country will open for the season on May 18. For more on tickets, hours and events, click here.
