More Details Released In Indiana Plane Crash

Posted: Updated:

The National Transportation Safety Board has released more information in the Indiana plane crash.

Officials in Washington, D.C. say the plane was following the flight plan, departing from Tulsa to South Bend, IN.

When the pilot, Wes Caves, approached the airport, he told the tower he was having a problem with the hydraulics.

When Caves tried to land the plane the first time, he executed a "go-around," which means he did not land, but circled back to try again.

On the second approach, the landing was fast and the airplane bounced twice.  Caves then tried to steer the plane around to the right.

The plane went inverted and landed in a neighborhood, damaging two houses.

A preliminary report is expected to be complete by the end of next week, but the entire investigation will last about a year.
