Lycamobile offers low cost international calls to US customers for the first time
(PRWEB) March 19, 2013
Lycamobile, the largest global provider of low cost international mobile calls, is proud to announce that this week its offering will become available to customers in the USA for the first time. The service will launch as the country’s first full MVNO and will operate in 18 States including New York, Florida, Texas and California with nationwide GSM coverage.
Lycamobile has acquired over 30 million customers across Europe and Australia in just 7 years and the company is the leader in its market in most of the countries it operates in. Its compelling low cost international and national calls mobile service has proved popular with customers who wish to stay in touch with families and friends across the world. The expansion to the USA will increase the company’s presence to 16 countries.
The company’s triumphs in the European market have been well documented; the addition of Germany to its portfolio in 2012 ensured Lycamobile has greater coverage of the European population than any other mobile operator. A subsequent move into Ireland and Portugal served to embed Lycamobile’s footprint across Europe covering over 80% of the EU population and giving customers access to a network which provides high quality affordable international calls.
The USA launch will offer strong national advertising, compelling targeted customer segment campaigns, competitive offers and powerful trade marketing with major retailers across the various States.
The service will launch with two bundles; one at $39 which will give the customer unlimited nationwide talk, text and data with the added benefit of unlimited international calls to 50 selected countries. The other bundle at $49 offers the same unlimited nationwide talk, text and data and a wider range of 65 countries for unlimited international calls. SIM cards will be available from a wide range of retailers and through the website offering nationwide delivery.
Subaskaran Allirajah, Chairman, Lycamobile comments:
“Since opening discussions surrounding a launch in the US, the appetite for our proposition has been overwhelming. It is this enthusiasm for the service that has led to our biggest launch yet and on 19th March 2013, low-cost international calls from Lycamobile will be available across the country.
“As the first full MVNO to launch in the United States, this is a milestone operation both for Lycamobile and for American customers who we look forward to helping connect with their loved ones across the world.”
Lycamobile is a prepaid mobile SIM card provider that provides low-cost, high-quality international and national calls and has acquired over 30 million customers across 16 countries (UK, Netherlands, Belgium, Switzerland, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Italy, Spain, Australia, France, Germany, Poland Ireland, Portugal and USA). Lycamobile is available through an extensive network of more than 1,000,000 retail outlets. The brand was initially introduced in 2006 and is already Europe’s largest pre-pay MVNO.
