Jefferson County Parents Summit to focus on education

The Jefferson County NAACP, the Arkansas Opportunity to Learn Campaign and the Rural Community Alliance is sponsoring a Jefferson County Parent Summit  to be held on Saturday, April 6th.  The summit will run from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Pine Hill Missionary Baptist Church Family Life Center.

The purpose of the summit is to help parents understand the importance of being involved in their children's education and to explore effective ways to become engaged.  Special speaker will be Senator Joyce Elliott.  Senator Elliott is a member of the Senate Education Committee, a former educator, and an acknowledged leader on education issues in the Arkansas Legislature.
