Emergency Crews Respond to Man Found Dead in Building Shaft

Emergency crews responded to an abandoned building Monday morning after a homeless man reportedly fell down a shaft.

Tulsa Fire Department and EMSA were sent to the building just after 9:30 a.m. where they recovered the body of the homeless man that fell down a water field hole. The building was located at 1325 N. Peoria Ave.

Officials at the scene told KTUL.com that another homeless man that was with the one that fell down the shaft went to the McDonald's on Pine and Peoria and called EMSA.

Tulsa Police Department's Leland Ashley said that officials are still investigating the death and no other information is available at this time. Officers have yet to identify the man.
