A Beebe softball coach loses his volunteer position after disturbing allegations surface. Mickey Davis is accused of molesting young girls. But although he is no longer coaching, the city can't keep him completely away from the team...
Former Coach Davis is adamant that he is innocent, and he has not been convicted of a crime. But he still has three felony molesting charges hanging over his head, and until recently he was managing team made up of girls who are the same ages as his alleged victims.
The charges stem from two separate incidents in Sunflower County, Mississippi where he allegedly inappropriately touched three girls between the ages of 12 and 14. Davis was never convicted, but some people question the wisdom of him agreeing to coach a softball team for the Beebe Parks Department. As soon as the parks director learned about the charges against Davis he fired him, but he told us he can't ban him from attending games and practices because they are on public property.
Davis maintains that he is innocent. He declined to appear on camera but he agreed to an audio interview--and told us there is no reason why he shouldn't be allowed around kids. Davis passed an initial background check because he wasn't convicted, but the league held a meeting where they informed all of the parents about the charges.
