North Little Rock Board voting to replace the Arkansas Queen

Posted: Updated:

NORTH LITTLE ROCK (KATV) - A new riverboat could be coming to the Arkansas River.

The North Little Rock city board heard a proposal Thursday for a lease agreement with the Dam River Boat Company.

As you might remember, the well known river boat, Arkansas Queen left in early 2013. General Manager Roger Odell says he made the decision because the city never replaced a barge that sank in 2009. He says it was a breach of the 2005 lease agreement. The North Little Rock Mayor explained the city didn't have the money.

The meeting is open to the public, it starts at 6:30 pm. To see the agenda, click here.
