NEWPORT (AP) - A court hearing has been delayed for a Newport man accused in the fatal shooting of a 1-year-old girl in northeastern Arkansas.
Officials say the next court hearing for 35-year-old Robert Friar is scheduled for April 22. He had been scheduled for a court hearing this week.
Friar was arrested Feb. 28 on suspicion of capital murder in the death of 1-year-old Tacarri Briggs and on suspicion of attempted capital murder in the shooting of the girl's mother, 21-year-old Delana Aguire.
Prosecutor Henry Boyce tells the Jonesboro Sun that he hasn't yet decided whether to pursue the death penalty.
Friar is being held without bond at the Jackson County jail in Newport.
