CHICAGO (CNN) - A group of women staged a "pink smoke" protest Wednesday outside Holy Name Cathedral.
They are angry that women are not allowed to be part of the decision making in the Catholic Church.
"Women
do everything in the life of the church," said protester Barbara Marian, "Everything except leadership
in the higher levels of decision making. And I'm here out of my anger
and grief about that, but also, my hope for the church and my love for
the church."
White smoke billowed from the Sistine Chapel the same day signaling a new pope had been chosen.
