LITTLE ROCK (AP) - Dayshawn Watkins scored seven points in the fourth quarter - six in the final five minutes - as North Little Rock rallied to beat Fayetteville 64-52 for the boys Arkansas Class 7A Championship in Little Rock.
Watkins finished with 16 points, five assists and two steals in Saturday's game as the Wildcats (28-1) won their seventh state title - their first since 1971. Tournament most valuable player Kevaugh Allen finished 17 points.
North Little Rock led for much of the game before falling behind 47-46 with 5:55 left. From there, Watkins scored twice and Allen added two baskets for a 54-48 lead with 2:45 left. Fayetteville closed to within 54-50 before North Little Rock went on an 8-0 run to put the game away.
Fayetteville (26-4) was led by Manuale Watkins with 19 points.
