LITTLE ROCK (AP) - Tiffany Murdock's rebound and basket with 3.7 seconds left were her only points - but were enough to lift the Malvern Lady Leopards to a 33-32 win over Prairie Grove in the girls Arkansas Class 4A Championship Game.
Murdock grabbed the rebound and put up an off-balance shot that went in for the victory Saturday in Little Rock.
There were eight lead changes in the game with Prairie Grove taking a 32-31 lead with 17 seconds to play on two free throws by Justyne Huber before Murdock's basket.
It's the first state title for Malvern (32-2) and the Leopards' first appearance in the title game. Prairie Grove (29-5) was state champ in 2011 and was in the title game for the third time in four seasons.
Shakara Penix led Malvern with 15 points while Prairie Grove was led by Lacey Beeks with 13 points.
