
LITTLE ROCK (AP) - Spencer Reeves led a Cedar Ridge comeback and Nate Easley and Cade Crabtree finished the rally as the Timberwolves beat East Poinsett County 58-56 for the Arkansas Class 2A state championship in Little Rock.
Reeves was named MVP after scoring 35 points - 26 in the second - half of Saturday's tame.
Easley's basket with 1:09 left that tied the score at 56-56 and a pair of free throws by Crabtree with 2.2 seconds left won the game. It was Crabtree's only points of the contest.
It is the first state title for Cedar Ridge (33-4) while EPC (25-8) was looking for its third straight state championship.
East Poinsett was led by freshmen Malik Monk with 25 points while Jammar Sturdivant added 12.
Cole Crabtree added 16 points and eight rebounds for Cedar Ridge.
