LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - Arkansas Land Commissioner John Thurston says his office has sent nearly $21 million in state turnback funds to counties across the state.
The funds are generated from delinquent tax payments on property - or from the sale of property because of unpaid taxes. The funds are returned to the counties in which the properties are located.
Thurston says the largest amount is $4.1 million to Pulaski County and the second largest was $3.4 million to Benton County.
