Last week was National Consumer Protection Week, which is a time designated each March for government agencies and consumer advocacy groups nationwide to encourage consumers to be better informed about their rights.
The State Attorney General's office says during Dustin McDaniel's time in office, the Consumer Protection Division helped put more than $10 million back into the hands of consumers as a result of our informal dispute resolution and mediation efforts.
In 2012, the Division assisted more than 7,400 consumers and returned more than $1.7 million. The "Got Your Back, Arkansas" initiative has been going on for over a year. The program offers tips and tools for handling almost every type of consumer issue.
