The board of education Monday
approved in a new charter school in Bauxite.
Miner Academy will be home to students in
grades 6th through 12th with a proposed enrollment of 200 students. Officials
plan for the district conversion public charter school to be on the campus of
both Bauxite Middle and High schools.
The charter school would
be designed to specialize in assisting students in need of one-on-one
instruction.
Miner Academy will create
a Personalized Learning Plan for every student. The goal is for these plans to create
individualized education based on academic level and personal needs and goals.
No word on when Miner
Academy will be open.
