LITTLE ROCK – Chuy's (pronounced Chewy's), will open its first Arkansas location Tuesday, May 7.
For more than 30 years, the Austin, Texas-based chain, has served Tex-Mex cuisine in a fun and vibrant atmosphere. The eatery is known for its fresh food and eclectic décor complete with an Elvis Shrine, wall of local dog photos, funky art, metal palm trees and a hubcap-covered ceiling.
"We're eager to introduce Chuy's Tex-Mex to Little Rock," said Dayne Kelley, local owner and operator for the new Chuy's on Chenal Parkway. "Like we say, if you've seen one Chuy's, you've seen one Chuy's. Each of our restaurants is unique, and we look forward to offering Arkansans a true Tex-Mex dining experience with made from scratch dishes..."
The Chuy's menu features authentic family recipes from South Texas, New Mexico and Mexican border towns. Favorites include Stuffed Chile Rellenos, Chicka-Chicka-Boom-Boom Enchiladas and Chuy's Famous Big As Yo' Face Burritos. Flour and corn tortillas are hand-rolled all day on the authentic comal located in the dining room.
In addition to its famous food and atmosphere, a cornerstone of the Chuy's philosophy is to give back to the local community. A Little Rock charity partner will be announced in April.
