
LITTLE ROCK (AP) - The Greenland Lady Pirates, who started the post-season 11-13, rallied from a 6-0 first-quarter deficit to beat Jessieville 59-32 for the girls Arkansas Class 2A Girls State Championship.
Morgan Miller scored 14 Thursday to lead a balanced Greenland attack as the Lady Pirates won their second straight state title and its fourth since 2000. Anna Rogers and tournament most valuable player Kiana Thompson scored nine each and Thompson had nine rebounds.
The defeat ruined a perfect season for Jessieville (33-1.) The Lady Lions were led by Justice Reliford with 13 points. Payton Lamb had a game-high 10 rebounds.
Greenland (20-13) hit 21 of 36 shots, 8 of 15 3-pointers and outrebounded Jessieville 37-26. Jessieville was 11 of 53 shooting from the field and 3 of 27 on 3-pointers.
