Threats To Cushing Schools Lead to Search of Tulsa Residence

Posted: Updated:
Cushing, OK -

Authorities say a "bomb threat" directed at Cushing Public Schools led them to search a Tulsa residence, Monday.

According to a release from the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation, the threat was received through a tipline on the Cushing Police Department's website.

The release went onto say that the Cushing Police Chief, along with a Cushing Police detective met with representatives from the FBI and Tulsa Police Department, Monday. Following that meeting a search warrant was obtained for a residence in Tulsa. A search of the residence was conducted and several "items of evidence" were recovered.

According to OSBI, officials were able to identify two "persons of interest" in the case. Investigators we're able to make contact with one of them. The other is outstanding.

This comes on the heels of a similar threat against Cushing Schools on Friday.

Cushing Public Schools Superintendent Colin Knight told KTUL.com, that those threats led them to step up security at all schools district-wide on Monday.

Officials say the investigation into both incidents is ongoing.

This is a developing story, look for more later on-air on Tulsa's Channel 8 and on-line at KTUL.com.
