New playground opens at Little Rock Zoo

Posted: Updated:
LITTLE ROCK (KATV) -

There's one more reason to visit the Little Rock Zoo.

The brand new Jambo Gym Playground opened at Café Africa Saturday.

Children were more than happy to test out all the new equipment.

The playground even has amenities for children with disabilities.

The project was started by volunteers who approached the Zoo about building a new playground suitable for children ages 5 through 12 years old.

The latest zoo addition was funded by private donors, the Arkansas Zoological Foundation and the one-cent city sales tax that passed in 2011.
