Smokey Smell In Tulsa Caused By Two Muskogee Fires

Posted: Updated:

KTUL.com has learned the source of a smokey smell and haze across the metro area.

Emergency dispatchers said it's coming from a hay bale fire south of Muskogee and a controlled burn at Camp Gruber. Light winds out of the south are just enough to push the smoke into the area, but not clear the air.

Both fires are under control. Dispatchers tell us the hay bale fire will have to burn itself out and that process could take a while.
