A Tulsa man is behind bars Tuesday after police reportedly found him with large quantities of blood on his clothing but no wounds to himself.

Calvin Bakel, 30, was arrested Sunday evening on charges of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and maiming.

According to the police report, Bakel inflicted bodily harm onto another man with a long iron rod. He also removed parts of the victims scalp and part of his ear.

Police were able to identify him with the help of the victims wife. Independent witnesses also told officers that he was the man who struck the victim with several objects.

Bakel has prior felony convictions and is due in court on March 11.
