HICKORY FLAT, Ark. (AP) - Authorities say a Batesville man has died after he drove off a White County road and crashed into the Little Red River.

Arkansas State Police say the crash happened Wednesday night on Arkansas 305 near Hickory Flat. A preliminary report says 22-year-old Bronson Scott tried to negotiate a curve but drove off the road and struck the guardrail and bridge.

His vehicle rolled over several times and landed in the river.

The Daily Citizen reports (http://is.gd/S16RJp ) that divers began searching Wednesday night for Scott, but the current was too strong. Scott's body was recovered midday Thursday.
