EMSA Officials Set To Meet, Discuss Audit Findings

Posted: Updated:

EMSA officials are set to discuss the results of a revealing audit and hear a response from the organization's leaders.

The board of trustees will hold an open meeting at 1:00pm Wednesday in Stroud to discuss the issues. Video of the meeting will be posted afterward on the agency's website, emsaonline.com.

The state auditor issued a report in January that accuses EMSA leaders of wasteful spending; a report done at the request of the EMSA board itself.

In it, auditor Gary Jones refers to "frivolous" charges for spa treatments, expensive airline upgrades and satellite radio subscriptions among others.

Those accused of the spending will present a written statement in the board meeting.
