Next Court Appearance Schedule for Brothers Accused of Murder

Posted: Updated:

Two brothers accused of killing four women at a south Tulsa apartment complex made a video appearance for their arraignment Friday.

Cedric Dwayne Poore, 39, and his brother, James Stanford Poore, 32, are each charged with four counts of first-degree murder and two counts of robbery with a firearm. Cedric will return to court March 3 and James on April 2.

James also entered a "not guilty" plea during the arraignment this morning.

The brothers are accused of the murders of Rebeika Powell, 23; Kayetie Powell Melchor, 23; Misty Nunley, 33; and Julie Jackson, 55 at the Fairmont Terrace apartment complex back on Jan. 7. The District Attorney's office filed the charges against both on Thursday.

"Filing charges is the first step in our effort to obtain justice for each of these victims, their families and the community," said first Assistant District Attorney Doug Drummond.

According to the booking report, investigators spoke with several witnesses detailing what the two brothers told them about the murders.

Witnesses told investigators that Cedric was armed with a .40 caliber semi-automatic pistol and that they were "going to pull a "lick" (robbery) at the victim's apartment."

Investigators were also told that they saw drugs, money and jewelry that was taken from the robbery at the victim's apartment.
