UPDATE: 3 children, 1 adult injured in Russellville school bus rollover

Posted: Updated:

RUSSELLVILLE (KATV) - Three children and a bus driver were injured after a school bus rolled over because of weather conditions Wednesday afternoon.

Police officers told Channel 7 News in a phone interview that the Russellville School District bus slid off a hill at Alaskan Trail & Yukon Drive and turned over on its side just after 4:00 p.m.

Pope County Sheriff Aaron DuVall told Channel 7's crew in Russellville that seven children were on board at the time of the accident, plus the bus driver. He could not confirm the ages of the children.

Three of the children and the bus driver were taken to area hospitals with minor injuries. Another three children were taken home by their parents. Deputies took one child home because they couldn't get in touch with their parents right away.
