
After scoring 21 points to lead Tulsa to a 101-92 triple overtime victory over Houston on Saturday, forward D'Andre Wright was named Conference USA Men's Basketball Freshman of the Week for the second consecutive week, the league office announced Monday.
Wright, a native of Lawton, Okla., took over for the Golden Hurricane in the extra periods, scoring 14 of the team's 31 overtime points. He made 8-of-11 field goals and pulled down seven rebounds in the game, and made 5-of-6 field goals and all four free throw attempts during the overtime periods.
The Golden Hurricane (14-11, 6-5 C-USA) returns to action Wednesday when it plays host to East Carolina (14-10, 5-6 C-USA) at 7 p.m.
