Arkansan on cruise ship speaks to Channel 7 moments before getting on land

Posted: Updated:

The Carnival Cruise Ship, Triumph, docked around 9:15pm Thursday night.

That was after a six hour tow from the mouth of Mobile Bay, about 30 miles to the port.

Anxious passengers lined the deck waiting to get off and were cheering loudly.

Channel 7's Christina Munoz spoke with Diane Grappe just moments before she disembarked the ship. Grappe said they had a long day of waiting but were so thankful to be back on land.

Buses were standing by to take passengers to their next stop but the group of ladies we spoke to say their husbands and family members went to Mobile to pick them up and take them home.
