
PINE BLUFF (AP) - Terrell Kennedy scored 15 points, all in the first half, and Arkansas-Pine Bluff coasted past Alcorn State 80-52 Monday night for its fifth consecutive victory.
Kennedy just missed a triple-double, finishing with nine rebounds and nine assists for the Golden Lions (12-13, 11-2 SWAC), who kept pace with Southern University at the top of the conference standings.
Davon Haynes had 14 points and seven rebounds for Arkansas-Pine Bluff, Lazabian Jackson scored 12 and Mitchell Anderson had 11 points.
Pine Bluff led 37-20 at halftime and built the lead even more in the second half, shooting 61%. The Golden Lions finished at 51% for the game.
Anthony Nieves had 18 points to lead the Braves (9-19, 7-6). Marquiz Baker scored 13 for Alcorn State.
