North Little Rock students to march for peace

(KATV) On January 30, Jasmine Young was killed while sitting in an SUV outside a convenience store on Asher Avenue in Little Rock.

The night of the shooting, three people were in the SUV with Young, they survived. One of the teenagers injured, attended the North Little Rock West Campus with 17 year old Jasmine Young.

Young's classmate, Greg Fudge is the sophomore class president. He decided to organize a peaceful march after school Friday in response to the deadly shooting.

He will be joined at 4:15 by classmates, Mayor Joe Smith and some of Jasmine Young's relatives.

Everyone will meet at the front steps of the West Campus, walk down Maple Street, make a right on West 19th; right on Orange and walk back to the school gym.

Fudge says the slogan for the march is "Pick up books, not guns".

The three suspects in the shooting turned themselves in. They are 22-year old Justin Fletcher, 23-year old Charles Robinson and a 17 year old. Little Rock police have not released details of a possible motive.
