HOT SPRINGS (AP) - The Sun Belt Conference men's and women's basketball tournaments are to move from Hot Springs after this year's games and take up residence in New Orleans.
The Sun Belt announced Tuesday that New Orleans would host the tournament in 2014 and for two years following.
This year's tournament will be the fifth in a row played at the Summit Arena in Hot Springs. The venue is considered a neutral site, despite the state having two teams in the league, Arkansas-Little Rock and Arkansas State.
Next year's tournament will be at Lakefront Arena on the campus of the University of New Orleans, a former Sun Belt member.
Hot Springs originally had a 3-year deal with the league, which was extended by two years.
